EE-Logos.org addresses the collapsing US economy, but also presents a way of restoring it by utilizing the discovery of Business Prof. C.M. Christensen.   (This paper was started in 2005)
The following pages focus on our Electrical Engineering profession and the role it plays in the approaching loss of US World Leadership in Technology and the resulting drastic and permanent decline in our standard of living. Beginning on page 4, however, I am presenting a possible solution to save our countries economy. --This paper begins with a collection of quotes from concerned and knowledgeable persons about the coming disaster. Now, in year 2008, there is also a book about this subject by Fareed Zakarias, editor of Newsweek.
               <The Post American World>.
One of the strongest warnings about the coming disaster comes from Senator Tim Ferguson,), he concludes that: “this is the end of America as we know it.” Differently based, but equally strong warnings come from the high-tech industry.

Jack Gifford, CEO of Maxim Inc. says: “… an increasing number of design engineering jobs are moving overseas. If this trend of the past 10 years continues over the next years, the U.S. will lose its position of technical leadership in the World. America’s high standard of living, brought about by technological innovation, will cede to Asia. The lack of growth in our engineering schools, the result of tepid demand, is symptomatic of the problem.”

Brian Halla, CEO of National Semiconductor said: “We are in the most disruptive, the most exciting, the most dangerous period since any of us was born. It's all about the new industrial revolution. Only this time, if our politicians have their way, the great American dream will move to Shanghai.”

Craig Barrett
, Chairman of Intel, said: “--- the United States is losing its edge over other nations in education, technology and research and development. For example, well-educated engineers from China, India and Russia are competing with the United States for jobs " Question: What do you think the U.S. industry of the 21st century is going to be? ---- Agriculture!" he said. "We're sending our workers into the marketplace with a disadvantage: their education”.

Prof. Ben G. Streetman, dean of the College of Engineering, University of Texas, member of the National Academy of Engineering gives another dire prediction. He writes:  “Every year, we’re educating about half the number of engineers that the country needs and importing the rest.              “That’s a prescription for going out of business as a country.”

While US Universities graduate less than 65 thousand EE-students annually, the Asian countries alone are now graduating over 450 thousand EEs annually. (What is the quality of these 450 thousand? --- I don’t know, but for today’s most difficult technology, Giga-Hertz communication, many of the authors on this subject in the trade-press have Asian sounding names. --- In any war, economical or otherwise, the number of well trained “officers” (engineers) is decisive! As Chairman Craig Barrett said:
“We have not yet woken up to the fact that we are in a battle.”

<How Long Will America Lead the World?>
An article by Fareed Zakaria, www.fareedzakaria.com/articles/newsweek/061206.html Here is a small excerpt from it which adds more quotes to the ones listed above
Jeffrey Immelt, CEO of GE, reflects on the growing competence and cost advantage of countries like China and even Mexico and says, "It's unclear how many manufacturers will choose to keep their businesses in the United States." Intel's Andy Grove is more blunt. "America ... [is going] down the tubes," he says, "and the worst part is nobody knows it. They're all in denial, patting themselves on the back, as the Titanic heads for the iceberg full speed ahead." ------ Much of the concern centers on the erosion of science and technology in the U.S., particularly in education. Eight months ago, the national academies of sciences, engineering and medicine came together to put out a report that argued that the "scientific and technical building blocks of our economic leadership are eroding at a time when many nations are gathering strength."
Some speak of these new challenges with an air of fatalism. The national academies' report points out that - for the cost of one chemist or engineer in the U.S. a company could hire five chemists in China or 11 engineers in India; that of the 120 $1 billion-plus chemical plants being built around the world one is in the United States and 50 are in China.
As Fareed Zakaria said: There are some who see the decline of science and technology as part of a larger cultural decay. A country that once adhered to a Puritan ethic of delayed gratification has become one that revels in instant pleasures. We're losing interest in the basics—math, manufacturing, hard work, savings and becoming a postindustrial society that specializes in consumption and leisure. <"More people will graduate in the United States in 2006 with sports-exercise degrees than electrical-engineering degrees," says Jeffrey Immelt. "So, if we want to be the massage capital of the world, we're well on our way.">

While this student issue is only a symptom, and not the cause, a “tactical” move to improving it is in the right direction; see: my short leaflet Students-Voting. (See last two pages)
Will any of these warnings and suggestions be taken seriously? Will any awareness arise in at least a few? - NOT A CHANCE! - All will be seen as “Doomsday Nonsense”, because 300 Million American Lemmings can’t be wrong! --- I see myself standing beside one of the Highways leading to the Pacific cost-line, not far from the place where Senator “Tim” has chosen to watch the show of happily singing US-Lemmings marching into the ocean. All day long I have not sold a single one of my inexpensive “life-west’s” and “inflatable rafts” and decide to close shop and visit the Senator for a deserved rest in his expensive air-conditioned Mobil-home. --- He will certainly remind me again that he had said years ago that: “less then 1 person in 100,000 understands how horrible and total the economic devastation will be in America”.

A famous American once said: “It only takes a few good men to do nothing, for evil to persist and a terrifying catastrophe to happen. The 7 men I have listed above, Craig Barret, Tim Ferguson, Jack Gifford, Andy Grove, Brian Halla, Jeffrey Immelt, Ben G. Streetman are certainly “good men”, because they have honestly made public what their sharp intellect tells them, instead of what hundreds of thousands of wealthy Americans are doing now. Namely keeping quiet and changing their Millions into safer Euros. Question is, will these 7 “good mendo anything EFFECTIVE to help their country? The future will tell, but my project to make “US EE-higher education” the best in the world, which needed a patent and 10 engineering man-years of my life, will not come into being without their help.

Over a Century of Great American Dream meets Globalized Economy and
                                             turns into a Terrifying NIGHTMARE
Having <FAME and FORTUNE> as our life’s primary goal has long been part of our cultural values, and it has been good as well as bad. But, with Globalization a reality now; and when combined with our sacred believe in a “Free Trade” with no tariffs, unprecedented Radical Capitalism has resulted which will destroy our Nation.
Actually only a very small but rich part of the US population (3%) was ever living this Great American Dream, the rest of us was and is just dreaming it. The Global Market makes the difference between the past and present. In the past, when workers and factories and laboratories producing the trade goods were still in this country, substantial portions of the benefits would go to the ordinary working people in the US with the help of powerful Trade-Unions and rules made by our Government. With the present type of global market however, Trade-unions and our Government are powerless and benefits will stay with the foreign nations. Now all the millions of US “working people” will be living the NIGHTMARE version of the <Great American Dream>.

Why do these rich US-money-barons do this to us? Because we let them, and their own benefits are sky-rocketing into the Billions. Is there a system of Global production that does not have this flaw of large wage differences, causing Trade imbalances? Yes, but not for a world consisting of “sovereign” Nations at different stages of development. None of our politician is focusing on this real CAUSE of the problem. That is why they don’t mentioning it in their speeches. How can an incentive package for US citizens equalize wages with employees in Asia and fix our HUGE Trade deficit? (My own $400 incentive package in 2008 went right to China by electronic transfer --- courtesy of the Wal-Mart store.)
Let me say some words about the moral and ethical values of these two Fs in our Dream and what they actually stand for. The fame part is our craving for adulation by others to stroke our <EGO> and the fortune part is our demand to become <filthy-rich> (greed) which gives us <CONTROL> over others and also earns us admiration by many. Actually both Fs have the same motive, which is to make us <FEEL SUPERIOR OVER OTHERS>, satisfying our ego.

These are our most valued and sacred American believes and when judged from a moral and ethical standpoint, you must admit that they are REALY UGLY. Therefore, most of us common people HATE these totally selfish or EGO-centric rich stockholders and their CEOs for what they are doing to us and our country. But given a chance to trade places with them, we would do so in a second.
In the past, powerful trade unions and our elected Government
kept these totally selfish money-barons in check and it has given us the strongest economy in the World. But now, in its most selfish and radical form, capitalism is destroying our country.

If you have read the Bible or seen the movie <The Ten Commandments> you will recognize our greedy cravings as the reason old Moses had to climb the mountain a second time to question the <Burning Bush> again. Trouble is, we have no Moses any more. And if you are a Buddhist, you will remember your teacher reminding you that you cannot let your EGO run your life if you ever hope to graduate from his classes.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Signed by: Lot‘s wife (After having been desalted) Actually it’s me playing “the role of Lot’s wife”, by looking back to the America of Camelot in 1965”; and me becoming a member of the then famous Bell Telephone Laboratories. - Where is BTL now in 2008? - Corporate Headquarters are in 54 rue de la Boe’tie 75008 PARIS  FRANCE. (The rats have left the sinking ship.) - When offered a position at BTL in 1962, I actually forgot to ask what my salary was, but I happily began to create two patents every year and was feeling good about it. Innovations and patents were appreciated, not because they made some people filthy rich, but because they gave the US a World leadership role in technology. <THE GREAT AMERICAN DREAM> was also the reason I came here, but it was this “World Leadership in electronics and computers”, and the opportunity to work in this field, which had drawn me to this country, not the “fortune” part or the US social structure which I had studied from a book published by the US State department. (Even at my young age “I smelled a rat”.) While the US might still barely holding its place in electronics and computers; the US social structure has deteriorated way below any of the other industrialized nations. Performance of US medical services has dropped down to place 37 (the level of Uruguay) but its cost is more than twice as high as the worlds best and other country. The US now stands alone as an industrialized nation having a high rate of uninsured families and as the only industrialized country in the World where people go bankrupt from medical bills.

Solution for a Strong, but still democratic, Leadership to save our economy

Let me finish my three pages of listings and <sound-bytes> for the major flaws of our American Culture and concentrate on a <solution> instead. A direct way is to focus on the <real> cause, which tells us that to maintain our standard of living and to have any significant role in this World; we will need to do the impossible. Change our most sacred believes and turn back the time 50 years to “the great social contract” of the “GI-bill”, John F Kennedy and the “National Defense Education Act” of 1958. This period, from 45 to 75, has also been called The Golden Age of CapitalismWe need to look at J. F. Kennedy’s famous line as our new goal:
<Ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for the country.>
If this were the only way out-off this <looming economic cataclysm>, then I would say our chances are null, zero, nada, keine, nichts. The same might be true for reintroducing the old style protectionism with tariffs. I have absolutely no hope that either way will work. --- But now I think I have discovered a different way which does not require a cultural change for all 300 million American citizens, but only for a few thousand Business Leaders.

Several years ago, Japan’s Government did precisely that with a few business leaders by forcefully convincing them. Did these Leaders loose a lot of profits by doing something for their country and citizens for a change? --- Only in the very the short term, in the longer run they became the World largest supplier for the particular product involved. How can I possibly convince our own Government to study this event and my proposal?

Do I need to wait until the US is “in its death-throws” before anyone might listen to such a working solution? I started such an “economy-saving solution” more than a decade ago with a <Disruptive technology> invention; (last pages). (Initially I only wanted to motivate our US EE-students to improving education; and it would have worked.)

A working Solution is: ------ DISRUPTIVE/ ENABLING ------ innovations.
This term is a minor modification for a discovery by Professor Clayton M. Christensen of the Harvard Business School. His convincing research is published in his first book “The Innovator’s Dilemma ….” My Gigahertz DSO design is a prime example for such a technology, mainly because it has a two orders of magnitude cost advantage over any competing product. This means, the cost to our students can be one hundred times less --- and we can manufacture it with hourly wages of $35 and still sell it even in the Chinese market.
 --- <These Disruptive/ Enabling innovations are the Holly Grail of engineering.> ---
Christensen explains what influence these innovations have had for the cultural evolution of mankind when he writes in his paper, Managing the Disruption of Healthcare:
---- Nearly every one of the disruptive technologies reviewed in the The Innovator's Dilemma - including hydraulic excavators, steel minimills and small business accounting software - had the effect of enabling a larger population of less-skilled [and less wealthy] people to do things that historically had been in the domain of expensive specialists. In each of these examples, customers ultimately found themselves with products and services that were far more reliable, more convenient to use, and cost less, than what would have been available had these disruptive revolutions not occurred. Few of us would opt to return to the days of centralized mainframe computing, corporate copying centers or to telegraphy. Though they were simple and inadequate at the outset, the disruptive innovations that overturned their industries left us much better off - even though they invariably left in their wake the wrecks of the companies that were the industry's prior leaders. --- In fact, these disruptions have been a fundamental mechanism by which the quality of our lives has improved.
As I ask, will the US have to be in its death-throws before my message with the disruptive Oscilloscope-design can find open ears in the business community? Maybe never, because Christensen also observed that: Never in history have the leading companies in an industry led a disruptive revolution. They typically have not just ignored the potential disruption, they have actively worked to discredit and oppose them.

For this reason our Government will have to force-feed the <business people> to make them “see the light”. The example for such <Government intervention>, which I mentioned before, happened because the Japanese Government wanted to <fix> their medical system which needed an urgent upgrade. The Government forcefully convinced the electronics industry to come up with an MRI machine which was affordable to the smallest of hospitals. After much grouching and cussing, the industry actually succeeded. Now a “head-scan-MRI test” cost just $85 in Japan while in the US the same “head-scan-MRI test” cost my insurance company $975. This enforced design of a Disruptive/ Enabling technology served Japans medical needs, but it also had a side effect. Japan has now become the Worlds largest supplier of MRI machines.
NEWS FLASH: Prof. Christensen and his business organization <Innosight> are not responding to my letters or to this paper. Does that mean he does not care? Maybe, but see: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/business/story/0,28124,24807772-5018019,00.html --- his opinions here are the same as mine. The likely reason that he won’t answer ME is that I cannot offer his <Innosight> company the customary $10,000 for his opinion. --- When our country needed help in another bitter war, a Professor from Princeton University send a letter to President Roosevelt giving him a solution to save hundreds of thousands of American lives, --- without first being offered $10,000 up front. --- Does Christensen have the patriotism and the courage to do the same? How will history remember Christensen? --- (Savior of our country … or?) --- And talking about letters, here is a letter to Lawrence Summers, NEC. (No address, no E-mail) and the cover letter I added to my papers which I have send to several CEOs.

Fetishized Hypercapitalism - or – cans of  Instant Fish
DISRUPTIVE INNOVATIONS, (by Prof. C.M. Christensen) for RESTORING OUR ECONOMY
----------- To: LARRY SUMMERS (Director of NEC) --- From: HARRY WINTER(S) -------------

Working for years on my paper “EE-Logos.org”, I could only imagined our future to be a <looming Economic Cataclysm engulfing the US>. And as you said: “These problems weren’t made in … years, and they’re not going to get solved that fast…, we also have to be mindful of having the right kind of plan that will carry us forward over time.”- No “right kind of plancame to my mind, but then it hit me --- I had already done years of work on parts of a solution.
I will explain, but first, let me say what I see as the real cause of our economic crises. Sure, the blown Housing-bubble and the failed Government-Banking-oversight have caused serious problems, but these all have well known and proven solutions. The FATAL problem for the U.S. economy is simply that wages for workers and engineers are ten times higher than those of other countries. We cannot manufactured “trade-goods” that are affordable to the rest of the World. Instead, we have a Huge Trade Deficit of $750 Billion and factories are closing at an alarming rate. Soon, <outsourcing> will have completely <deindustrialized> our Nation. Our politicians never mention this, because -- they have no solution for it! -- (See next page)

The $787 Billion STIMULUS-program does not address the above problem at all; it stimulates only the local economy weakly in an undifferentiated way. --- This program is obviously not the right kind of plan” Larry; because it is based on a WRONG DIAGNOSIS, assuming we are only dealing with a cyclic recession. As Business Professor Peter Morici, of the University of Maryland, explains it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF0Pv4d38UI&feature=related  A DEPRESSION is a recession that  DOES NOT SELF-CORRECT , because of fundamental structural problems in the economy, such as <broken banks> or a <huge trade deficit>.”

We have BOTH SYMPTONS, <Broken Banks> and a <Huge Trade Deficit>, which clearly indicates that we were already heading for a MAJOR DEPRESSION years ago. The “stimulus treatment”, recommended by our so called <Business Advisors> will work only for a <cyclic recession>; it never had the ability to miraculously restore our very sick economy. Insisting that this faulty-diagnosis is still correct will cause great misery for hundreds of Millions and even death to hundreds of thousands of our U.S. citizens. --- Is that Treason by Incompetence?

How can our Business Professors believe in a <Fetishized Hypercapitalism>, which restores our Economy miraculously back to life, just by adding Billions of dollars? --- It’s like believing in cans of <Instant fish>, just by adding Galons of water. (Webster’s defination: fetish adj. [<L
facticius] 1.any object believed by superstitious people to have magical power.  [Like a Rabbit’s foot] )

Author Iain Banks observed this years ago, when he wrote:
It is in the elevation of this profoundly mechanistic (and in that sense perversely innocent) [capitalistic] system to a position above all other moral, philosophical and political values and considerations that humankind displays most convincingly both its present intellectual immaturity and - through grossly pursued selfishness (rather than the applied hatred of others) a kind of synthetic evil.”
For a time I was baffled when none of the “Stimulus money” was ever directed towards the <Outsourcing problem> which <deindustrializes> our country. The new term of <Fetishized Hypercapitalism> has now opened my eyes. It works by Magic, STUPID! If you have ever tried to fix things by MAGIC you’ll understand that our economy can’t be restored that way. Understanding that this DEPRESSION can last for decades is easy, my solution is more difficult to comprehend. You need to read my web-pages and do some study on Prof. Christensen’s work, but you don’t need to understand my DSO design, it just works even without magic.
Curious? http://www.msmisp.com/futuretest/index.htm  hwinter2@windstream.net.

---------------------- “It only takes a few Good Men to do Nothing … ----------------
for evil to persist”, (as a famous American once said), --- or to let a <looming economical cataclysm engulf the US>. In my paper, (http://www.msmisp.com/futuretest/index.htm ) I am quoting CEOs Craig Barret, Tim Ferguson, Jack Gifford, Andy Grove, Brian Halla, Jeffrey Immelt, Ben G. Streetman --- and they are certainly “good men”, because they have honestly made public what their sharp intellect tells them. --- Question is, will these seven “good men” ever do anything EFFECTIVE to help their country. At this time they have not even hinted at any remedies, and have not responded to the proposal in my papers. --- These “good-men” have all been preaching now for years that the main reason for the economic collapse in the U.S. is the FATAL problem of Foreign Trade Deficit ($750). The U.S. cannot manufacture “trade goods” anymore that are affordable to the rest of the World, simply because wages for our workers and engineers are ten times higher than those of other nations. Our factories are closing down at an alarming rate and Outsourcing will soon completely deindustrialize our Nation. --- One CEO, Jeong Kim of BTL, the company I worked for all my life, realized that the US is no place for BTL anymore and he moved it to 54 rue de la Boe’tie 75008 PARIS FRANCE. I must agree with him that there might not be a simple solution as long as we are looking for the <reasonable> the <conventional>, the <tried and proven>.
What we really need are -– CREATIVE --- solutions instead.
We need new kinds of Skunk-Works to stay afloat in this “Economic War”. Not for inventing superior products that fly higher and faster, as it was for the original Skunk-Works, but to create COST/PERFORMANCE - BREAKTHEOUGHS with <Disruptive/ Enabling> innovations, (which is a discovery by Harvard Professor C.M. Christensen.) This would allow us to put our people back to work again with acceptable wages. Can it be done? Yes, I can prove it, if only for a single line of products, mind you, I am just ONE engineer. The first product of this line should be marketed as a PROVE of CONCEPT in the shortest possible time, which can be just a few months, because I already worked on it for more than <10 engineering man-years>. This product will have a <two orders of magnitude> cost advantage> and can be manufactures at $35 hourly wages in the U.S. but be sold even on the Chinese market. --- This product alone would provide us with $100 Million annual profits, --- but more importantly, it would bring hundreds of previously suppressed ideas from other creative engineers out into the open. A disclosure of this kind will highlight the difference between Prof. Christensen’s observations about CEOs of industry suppressing disruptive ideas (page 5) versus quickly implementing these innovations and getting Millions of our citizens back to work again. To survive this “Economic War” we need to forcefully convince our Business Leaders to embrace these <Disruptive/ Enabling> innovations instead of suppressing them. This is the requirement which I see as THE MAJOR OBSTACLE, because Prof. Christensen also observed that Never in history have the leading companies in an industry led a disruptive revolution”. --- In fact, they haven’t even done so when their own survival was at stake, as the demise of the mini-computer companies has shown. --- So why should they do it now when only the survival of our country is at stake? --- They won’t! --- Do we have a President who has what it takes to confront these CEOs and enforce developments of <Disruptive/ Enabling> Innovations at all R&D centers that are still operating in the U.S.? --- I truly wish we do! --- The alternative is this <Economic Cataclysm> which is now beginning to cause misery for hundreds of Millions and will eventually kill hundreds of thousands of our citizens.
Are you asking me Mr. CEO, How can you expect thousand of engineers to come up with more of your “hair-brained” idea of <Disruptive/ Enabling> innovations? --- First, as I said, it is not my “hair-brained” idea, but the discovery of Professor Christensen’s of the Harvard School of Business. In my opinion his research is the most important finding by Harvard in a century. Second, I myself got 11 patens which are of this <Disruptive/ Enabling> kind. --- And while I only have average engineering abilities, my inventions all worked and several that went into large scale production proved to be extremely reliable in the field. This reliability and my designs being always on schedule were appreciated by management. However, the much lower cost for my <Disruptive/ Enabling> designs was not. (Less profits) --- About answering your “question” Mr. CEO, Sorry, I don’t have a definite answer, --- I just have Hope ---, which is surely needed, because, --- RIGHT NOW WE ARE LOOSING THIS ECONOMIC WAR

Evolutionary-forces as <Immutable Laws> (Spiritual view, - reading is optional.)
Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount” gives us the reason for the imminent downfall of our Sodom and Gomorra country. He said:13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. [The Wasteland] 14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Mathew 5-13-16 --- (Unfortunately the Hebrew translation ends with addressing the <standard Church-God> who needs constant “Glorification” to satisfy his BIG Ego.) But read the beginning carefully, it does not say it will happen by any <micromanagement> of God, but by being “trotted under the foot of men”, that is by the other 5.7 Billion people here on earth. Albert Einstein expressed his opinion in a recently published letter http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24598856/? ) It says he does not believe in a God who punishes people after death. Instead, his God has immutable laws (evolution) in place to insure that growth in consciousness ß click here) will take place. If so, Mathew 5-13 is one of these <immutable laws>. I am fairly certain the reason the US is likely to experience an economic cataclysm is this immutable law for < Cultural Consciousness>. The following paragraph by the British writer Iain Banks however, addresses the issue for modern US style “Capitalism” without using this <consciousness concept>.

What is this “Perversion” of our Capitalistic Culture?
<Let me state here a personal conviction that appears, right now, to be profoundly unfashionable; which is that a planned economy can be more productive - and more morally desirable - than one left to market forces. The market is a good example of evolution in action; the try-everything-and-see-what-works approach. This might provide a perfectly morally satisfactory resource-management system so long as there was absolutely no question of any sentient creature ever being treated purely as one of those resources. The market, for all its (profoundly inelegant) complexities, remains a crude and essentially blind system, and is - without the sort of drastic amendments liable to cripple the economic efficacy which is its greatest claimed asset - intrinsically incapable of distinguishing between simple non-use of matter resulting from processal superfluity [surplus] and the acute, prolonged and wide-spread suffering of conscious beings.
It is, arguably, in the elevation of this profoundly mechanistic (and in that sense perversely innocent) [capitalistic] system to a position above all other moral, philosophical and political values and considerations that humankind displays most convincingly both its present intellectual immaturity and -
through grossly pursued selfishness (rather than the applied hatred of others) a kind of synthetic evil.>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As Iain Banks points out; the forces running our “free market Capitalism”, are the Existence  <Evolutionary forces of Nature>, millions of years old and Blind to Ethnics and Morality. Has mankind become mature and creative enough to replace these blind forces of evolution? --- Not in the resent past when the social system of Communism failed precisely for lack of <higher-consciousness> for the people involved as well as for their leaders. Now we have the same situation here in the US, which makes our type of “Capitalism” fail. My plan is to sidestep this <consciousness-issue> for the masses, because the primitive evolutionary forces are bound to cause an excessive amount of indiscriminate suffering, without being sufficiently effective to do the teaching. <THE COSMOS IS SELF-CREATION OF GOD> is a statement of our Western Philosopher A. N. Whitehead. Not only does this explain the suffering in life, more importantly it urges us to become <Co-Creators> with God (imitado Dei). Are we ready for that, even when our academia is denying the existence of <higher levels of Consciousness>? --- For my plan to actually work, we need to forcefully address the <consciousness issue> for thousands of business leaders, engineers and scientists. --- Can we succeed in doing so? (Jesus tried it for his disciples with only little success.)

FORTIONATELY “THE BAD-TIMES” WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
Professor Jeffrey D.Sachs, Columbia University, Director of the UN millennium project, etc. etc. --- In short, --- a BIG-shot. --- He tells us in his paper in Scientific American, Special Edition: “Crossroads for Planet Earth” ----- “GLOBALIZATION”.

Is globalization making the rich richer and the poor poorer?:
Generally, the answer is no. Economic globalization is supporting very rapid advances of many impoverished economies, notably in Asia. International trade and foreign investment inflows have been major factors in China’s remarkable economic growth during the past quarter century and India’s fast economic growth since the early 1990s.

Will higher income in poor countries mean lower incomes in rich countries?
By and large, economic development is a positive-sum process, meaning that all partake in it without causing some to suffer. In the past 200 years, the world as a whole has achieved a massive increase in economic output rather than a shift in economic output to one region at the expense of another.

And here is the “mantra” of the US Government which was created by a high-level exec of TI Inc. Let’s call him Benedict Arnold to preserve his anonymity, he stated:

“For every job that goes over-seas, another one is created right here in the US!”
What a great relieve this is, just say this mantra every time you meditate with great conviction and gusto and, generally, and by and large, all will be well. America will become the first Nation in the world which has all its Industry moved offshore and only the upper management has its luxurious headquarter here in the states. (Hopefully also in my home village, if our Mayor has her way, population 2600.) All the big profits will flow back to our 9-Million Millionaires (3% of US population) who then give most of it to us people for managing and controlling all this wealth. --- In the past, countries with no industry have been called “Banana Republics”; that has all changed for the better now. --- We will all be wealthy without having to design or to produce anything ourselves.

            The Voluntary DE-Industrialization of America

No doubt, the time for “Global economy” has arrived, and this event will free 2 to 3 Billion people on earth from hardship, hunger and poverty. But will this happen the way we intend it to happen? --- NO, because our true motive represented by our Government and strongly influenced by leaders of Industry, is the motive of unmitigated GREED instead. --- I would say that the biggest Fraud was our great “World Trade Center” with its proclaimed goals. --- Our hidden agenda is instead to look at Asia and the South American countries only as new markets for us to make bigger profits. But more importantly, these areas of the world are “seen” as RESOURCES which can be exploited for “cheap Manpower” and “cheap Brainpower.” --- And here is our great miscalculation. By outsourcing first all of manufacturing, and now also the research and design phase for new products we are actually “Voluntarily DE-Industrializing America and unintentionally industrializing the Asian countries instead. --- The counter argument for this is that all companies who are doing this are still “American firms” and that all profits will flow back to the U.S. --- Right now that is still true and the rich are getting richer, but how will it be in a few years from now? --- The reason that a company can move in part, or even completely, from one state of the Union to another and even move to Europe and still bring all its profits back to its owners in the US is thanks to our Laws concerning ownership of businesses. There is no INTERNATIONAL LAW of this kind to protect our 9 million American multi Millionaires (3% of our population) who run our Government and own all business.---  China and India are sovereign Nations, they are not bound by laws of ownership; any “national concern” of theirs can override it. The “UN” is as powerless as the previous organization was, the "League of Nations". In fact it is also as corrupt as the older organization; --- just remember the UN-official who was sacked lately because of his dealing with Sadam and his oil. Even if we had any International Law concerning business, it could never be enforced. Right now the Chinese are playing these "U.S.-Millionaires" in a poker-game of an economic war and they are ahead of us at a rate of over one Trillion dollars in US treasury bonds as surplus. That’s their money in the bank, but they are still increasing it by winning Billions every month. (Right now they could buy the largest company in the world “Wal- Mart” three times over, and five times Microsoft and have money left over.)
Is your Spiritual house in Order?
 --- An excerpt from the
latest report of "Senator Tim Ferguson. “There is nothing more important in your life right now than the exceedingly dire economic crisis unfolding as I write, and the state of your soul! --- In other words, if your spiritual house is not in order, the building financial collapse will be so horrible that you will not be able to emotionally or mentally endure it, and I am addressing the healthy and strong here. --- This collapse will knock you out cold, flat on your back, with violence, and most of mankind will never get back up. While the elite are sending signals to their friends that the switch has been thrown, that final preparations for safety are now in order, they are not saying how bad it will be. That is why I began this site, because --- this is the end of America as we know it.

.Describing the effect of DE-industrialization on our lives to a friend        (2006).
You should rejoice Bill, considering the troubles you have with our Government organizations; --- this coming National disaster will strike all of the U.S. just like the Hurricane Katrina struck the Golf coast, but this time it will strike all cities and continue for may decades. --- I believe a lot of people will be surprised about the similarities of these two events. No electricity, no gas for heat, no fresh water, --- Foot riots in nearly all big Cities, street gangs controlling the neighborhoods,
fires being set and burning out of control, the organization of “soup-kitchens” being delayed by lack of founds, etc. etc. Driving on highways will only be possible in convoys with armored trucks in front and back, and still there will be trouble, because ambushes will be set with parts of the highways being mined. --- Since this Catastrophe is nation-wide, there will not be enough National Guards or even regular Army to keep order, and the Employees of Government organizations will not come to work without being paid. ---- Don’t you think Bill that this will solve your “misunderstandings” with the Government?
You have ask me Bill what I am doing --- to prevent this catastrophe from happening. It can’t be prevented Bill, it’s the way the forces in this Kosmos are arranged; You might say by “the process of
Evolution of Consciousness”, --- these forces are not any direct “micromanagement” by God, as Jesus has made it very clear to us in his “Sermon on the Mount” (Ye are the salt of the Earth)
Here is a good description of our present-day US America, the kind of The Wasteland which Joseph Campbell has described in these words: “The problem of the grail quest is the re-vitalization of what is known as the WasteLand. The WasteLand is a world where people live not out of their own initiative, but out of what they think they're supposed to do. People have inherited their official roles and positions; they haven't earned them. This is the situation of the Wasteland, --- a place where the sense of the vitality of life has gone. Bill, no one can prevent the coming disaster, and I can only buy us more time to adjust. It’s the way by which another
two to three Billion of the Word’s population is finally getting into the industrial age and out of poverty, hardship and hunger. (What’s the sacrifice of just 280 million Americans compared to that?) --- What I tried to do Bill, was to increase the US EE-student enrolment by motivating our young people and giving them the tools to learn the craft. I have worked for more than 15 years now, not only to invent these tools, the fishing boats and nets for engineers, at less than 1/20th the present cost, but also to provide a design methodology for them to repeat this type of engineering for many other instruments. (E.g. Medical diagnostic instruments, MRIs etc.) --- With no way of getting even a small founding from the Government or any private organization; or finding any fellow engineers who are willing to help me voluntarily. --- I am giving up Bill! --- (I got “help” for this decision by a Government organization, the “Bureau of Motor Vehicles”, who, ignored a ruling by the Judge of the traffic-court, (they think they are “above the law”) and took my drivers license away.)

This country is not worth saving Bill; it’s corrupt down to the bones. The famous line by J.F.K
Ask not what the Country can do for you, but what you can do for the Country,
is now just a bad joke. --- For you who are not familiar with the Capitalistic process by which our Industry is being transferred offshore, here is a short outline. --- Since average wages in Asian countries are about one dollar per man-our, including the necessary engineers on the factory floor, a company who does not outsource its products will not be competitive and go into bankruptcy in a short time. --- Lately, the same situation has developed for even the most demanding and sophisticated engineering design jobs. Here is a short part from an article in the June issue of Electronic Design:
“Motorola selected a Taiwan company, BenQ Corp., to design and manufacture millions of mobile phones. Last year, BenQ decided to sell the phones in the fast growing Chinese market under its own name. Needless to say, Motorola canceled its contract.” --- Please notice that both, manufacturing as well as the design job had been outsourced to be done in China, --- canceling was all Motorola could do. BenQ however now sells even more of these phones than before. When China and India decide the time has come to end the “economic poker-game”, they can take over all manufacturing and design facilities in their country with a snap of a finger. At that time, we in the US, will be left with only the headquarter buildings and its personal of the previously big corporations, factories and design laboratories and its staff will have disappeared.
We have then “successfully” completed: <The voluntary DE-INDUSTRIALIZATION of the US.

50-GHz-bandwidth, sequential-sampling DSOs
               test 10-Gbps network components

Of ALL DIGITAL SCOPES, only sequential equivalent-time-sampling instruments offer bandwidths as high as 50 GHz. This capability makes such scopes the instruments of choice in applications of rapidly growing importance---electro-optics, for example.
Yet, because these scopes work only with repetitive waveforms and take just one sample during each input-signal iteration, they lack the quick response of lower bandwidth, real-time -and random-sampling instruments. This characteristic limits Sequential-sampling scopes largely to applications that need extraordinary bandwidth. To address the requirements of engineers, who develop components for networks that transmit data at speeds as high as10Gbps, Tektronix has introduced a family of sequential-sampling scopes. (TDS8000 and CDS8000) ------- Each scope accommodates four sampling modules. Five modules provide a variety of electrical interfaces. Three more optical-sampling modules support the OC-12/STM4, OC-48/STM16, OC-192/STM64, Gigabit Ethernet, and Fibre Channel standards. ... The TDS-8000 cost $19,000. Prices for electrical-sampling modules (15GHz) begin at $10,500 each; prices for optical-sampling modules begin at $17,000 each. - Tektronix Inc, 1-800-426-2200, www.tektronix.com.

economical edge --- EE-Logos.org, Harry Winter
50-GHz-Banwith, sequential-sampling DSOs
At a $40,000 starting price (two Sampling modules), the above might be the "bleeding edge" instead, but here is a PC-Card size DSO, with has nearly identical performance and a cost of only $250 in a 6-GHz, and of $400 in a 50 GHz version. This Card-Scope uses sequential-sampling too, but the new DS2O method (two-dimensional Sampling) takes a multitude of samples per repetition, making the DS2O a general-purpose scope for all frequency ranges. LeCroy calls a similar method NRS, “Near Real-time Sampling” and uses it in their latest line of DSOs. Another advantage of the DS2O method is that a digitizing resolution of more than 12 bits is obtained directly and not by averaging many traces, as with conventional scopes. --- The present 6-GHz design uses only readily available (commodity) ICs, but with the new Indium Phosphide (InP) chips bandwidth can easily go beyond 50-GHz, while the power consumption still remains within the constrains of the USB link. The cost of only one of the Tektronix TDS8000 would buy 100 of the PC-Card+USB DSOs. But, of course, a standard PC is needed for the display and to perform the many post-acquisition tasks listed as features for the TDS8000. There is only one "small" problem; the PC-Card DSO is a “disruptive technology” and no T&M Company will market it, because it would “cannibalize” their high-end $40,000 scope market. (In other words, the company looses $40,000 every time they sell a card-scope and this will get the CEO fired in a few weeks.) This Card-scope is one of the best examples for a “disruptive technology” which is a concept discovery of Professor Clayton M. Christensen, The Innovator's Dilemma; Harvard School of Business.

Just floor it and à ZOOM, à ZOOM, --- Your new DS2O will let you pass many other engineers on Your Road to Success.
This revolutionary DS2O can soon be available, but only if you send us a postcard, telling us you might need one for your lab-classes. We could then obtain a Grant to start production. Sales will only be to registered Engineering students and High school students with a letter of recommendation from their science-teacher. --- www.EE-Logos.org is a “Non-Profit” Organization with the exclusive mission to motivate Engineering and Science Students by treating them as privileged on one hand, but charging them with saving the economy of our country with American Ingenuity on the other. The sensational Cost/Performance ratio of these DS2Os is based on a novel <Two Dimensional Sampling> concept; (the S2 part) and we expect the trade-press to publish Front-page reports. However, the T&M industry might sue us, because GHz DSOs are their “Flagships” and we are threatening their livelihood. And while they cannot win, they can tie us up in court with the same effect. (Get on our list now!) This DS2O is a. “Disruptive Technology”, for the industry, but an “Enabling Technology” for you, to handle the most demanding designs in electronics. Actually, there will be three versions of this DS2O; a 200-MHz for $195, then the 6.5-GHz version above, and a FET-input 1.2 GHz for $450. --- Besides the Nintendo platform shown, all three DS2Os will also be available as PC-Card, (for $100 less) but with USB links to PC-Notebook or Desktop computers. --- Write to: Rev. Harry Winter, PO Box 270, Granville, OH 43023

The plastic box ($2 commercial) is inside-shielded and contains the DS2O circuitry and is permanently attached to a standard Nintendo game cartridge, which holds the DSO-control and display programs in its EPROM, instead of a Game. --- For Engineering student (the “geek” types) designing or inventing a new electronic “thing-a ma-thing” is more exciting then playing a game! (However the Nintendo System needed no modification, it will still play the games.)
Power for the 200MHz DS2O is fully provided by the Nintendo system for the customary 4 hours, the Gigahertz versions however will need the Nintendo battery charger also connected to give a longer time of operation.

Here are implementations of the Card-scope version which need a PC-computer to provide a complete DSO system. --- Since nearly every engineering student has his or her PC, this is the most cost-effective and powerful solution for them.
